Simon Cumbers Media Fund: Student Funding

The Simon Cumbers Media Fund is offering a student scheme as part of its activities this year. Under this scheme, third-level students will be encouraged to submit a media proposal focusing on development issues.

Two awards will be granted, one in Print and one in Broadcasting. Successful students will be awarded with an opportunity to travel to a developing country to research and produce their media project. Successful applicants will also receive guidance and mentoring from journalists within two of Ireland’s leading media organisations: Newstalk Producer Susan Cahill and Irish Times Foreign Policy Editor Paddy Smyth.

Closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday, 10 February 2012. Applications will be accepted by post or email.
