Humanitarian Journalist of the Year

Irish Red Cross has opened up nominations for its Humanitarian Journalist Award. To be eligible journalists need to have had their work published or broadcast on the topics of human rights, social issues and humanitarian issues within the past two years and to be working in Ireland or Irish.

The awards are a way both to recognise the individual’s journalists work but more significantly bring the humanitarian issues highlighted by the journalist to an even wider audience. This is the only recognised award for humanitarian and social issue journalism in Ireland.

  • Must be Irish or based in Ireland
  • Have had their work published or broadcast over the last 24 months through a recognised media channel
  • Self-nominations and nominations of others accepted.

You can nominate today at: https://irchumanitarianawards.ie/submit-a-nomination/humanitarian-journalism-award/.

Deadline is Friday 28 February.
