Breaking into Broadcasting

Due to a technical error, the beginning of Lenny’s presentation is missing). In his presentation, Lenny explained how a tweet about the lack of science programming on Irish radio led to expressions of interest from half a dozen collaborators, who became the Scibernia team, creating first a podcast and then radio programme broadcast on Near FM with support from Science Foundation Ireland. The 32 programmes from the series are archived at Scibernia.ie.
Along with Gavin Byrne from Near FM, Lenny then pitched the idea for Ireland’s Oceans to the BAI. The two part programme was broadcast on Near FM earlier this year.
