MAKING A PITCH and PITCHING your Stall
On Wednesday 21 November you have a unique opportunity to gain an insight, from the insiders, into getting your story, company or organisation on the air. We welcome Brendan Howard (our first male speaker!) from Newstalk radio and producer of the Tom Dunne Show to give us tips about making a pitch to a radio show. What pitfalls to avoid, what will get attention and how to put it together. In this session you will learn how to get your idea to an on-air item. Brendan produces 10 hours of live radio every single week. His experience in this area is huge, and we are delighted to have him with us. Bring your notebook!
Sue Nunn is a broadcasting legend. Currently Station Editor at KCLR radio, Sue’s experience as a broadcaster and newswomen is phenomenal. She’ll be sharing with us her insights into actually getting through a live radio interview. It can be a daunting experience even for those who have already taken the plunge. Sue will show how to prepare an item, use your notes effectively, modulate your voice and really listen … all while you’re talking!
Both sessions will be of enormous benefit to first timers and those less experienced at radio. Come along, bring a friend AND … Celebrate our 2nd Birthday. Women on Air is officially 2 years old. There will be cake! What more do you need?
Tickets are a keenly priced €7 and the seminar commences at 7pm in the
United Arts Club, Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2
