This course kicks off with a keynote address from barrister Pauline Walley on internet, media and the law followed by panels which address defamation, copyright and using social media for research and profile building. Panellists include Christine Bohan of the Journal.ie, Karlin Lillington of the Irish Times, solicitor Simon McGarr, Kate Shanahan, head of journalism at DIT Aungier Street and Irish Times journalists Jim Carroll and Una Mulally. Q & A sessions provide plenty of time for discussion.
