NUJ announcement: Jobs not Debt

The NUJ will be marching this Saturday on the Congress demonstration, Lift the burden: Jobs not Debt. www.ictu.ie/jobsnotdebt.nuj100

Please join us for this important march. Austerity is not working and it’s time workers stood together to send a clear signal to the Troika and to the Irish Government – the burden is too great and we are not prepared to carry the load.

These demonstrations give every NUJ member the opportunity to add their voice to the huge number of people who want the debt to be lifted from our backs. Every day our members use a variety of media to communicate with the general public to let them know what is going on in the world. Now, as trade union members, it’s our chance to be part of the story by getting out on the streets and having our voices heard as citizens.”

We will assemble in the following locations:

Galway – NUJ members will meet at the Galway Court House at 1.15 p.m. and the march leaves from the Cathedral Car Park at 1.30 p.m.
