The Spring 2024 Freelance Forum will consist of a one-day in person event at the Ireland Institute, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. [Closest LUAS stops at Trinity/ Westmoreland]

FFP masks and hand gel will also be provided.

Freelance Forum is a regular one day event designed to keep freelance journalists up to date with the latest developments in their industry. Aimed at writers, photographers and PR practitioners, and hoping to cover print, broadcast and online media, it is organised by Dublin Freelance NUJ branch with support from Coimisiún na Meán.

  • Newsletters: Back to the Future with Email, with Drew Sheil, marketing consultant, Sam Tranum, deputy editor, Dublin Inquirer, and Stephanie Costello, freelance journalist
  • Media Engagement Group: Safe Reporting: This section outlines the topic to be covered during the session. With Fergal Crehan, barrister, Andrew McLindon, director of communications, An Garda Síochána, and members of the Garda National Crime Prevention Unit.
  • Inclusion, Diversity, and Representation in Journalism: With James Casey, Independent Living Movement Ireland, Paula Fagan, ceo LGBT Ireland, Aoife Kavanagh, UNHCR, and Priyanka Borpujari, freelance journalist.

Attendance at the Forum is €5 for NUJ members, and €20 for non members.
