Dublin Freelance branch will hold an information meeting in Buswells hotel, Molesworth Street, Dublin, on Monday 24 October at 7pm.
Diarmaid Breathnach of the contract awards section of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) will explain how the Sound and Vision programme, which currently channels 7% of the TV licence fee to independent productions, works.
The programme provides funding for programmes on Irish culture, heritage and experience, and programmes to improve adult literacy, media literacy and understanding of global affairs.
The meeting should help members to understand better how this relatively new market for journalists and journalism works.
Non-members of the branch are welcome to attend the presentation from the BAI.
